This deeply engaging and gorgeous performance of Scheherazade by Reiner is a living proof that conductors of our generation are unable to feel music in deeper way. The likes of Abbado, Rattle Gergirev are worshiped as great masters nowadays, but compared to the old masters like Reiner, Fürtwängler, Ormandy, Kubelik, Mravinsky, Svetlanov, they are just music notes reproducers to me.
