- One of the best films ever madeI rate this film as highly as Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala amd the the Jean de Florette/Manon de Sources pair; absolutely of the finest. I watch it regularly; the brilliant portrayal of characters, good, bad and ugly never cease to impress me. Their interrelationships always bring me close to tears at moments - even though I know what is going to happen.

- Restorative viewingI watch this film every couple of years when I am in the house on my own, I have loads to do but need a bit of clear space and time to myself. Antonia's Line is a wonderful, restorative film about the power of ordinary and extraordinary details to accumulate into a life, a family, an ongoing legacy. Highly recommended.

- Art imitating life...Antonia, the protagonist, is a metaphor for all hardworking and compassionate women who keep family and community ties strong amidst a sea of changes. Four generations of females and numerous other family members, adopted and otherwise, create a diverse mosaic of relationships. This film will warm your heart and hopefully give you hope that communities are what makes us human.
